Those are the big places that usually occur.  So clean them as if there is mold there.  Mold spores are invisible floating through the air.  When they are visible such black on a cardboard box in the basement, pitch the box.  Today's blog is on odd places to find mold.
1.  The Cat litter:  Think about it.  You have absorbent product absorbing pee that is  warm, in a dark place (usually the basement) and damp because it is wet.  Mold can grow quickly within 25 - 48 hours.  For the double whammy, many folks with mold allergies also have cat allergy.  This needs to be cleaned every other day.  Another tip is adding baking soda to help kill the mold.
2.  The dog's dish:  You would not think of mold in the dog's dish.  But if you clean it every other month, chances are it will accrue mold.  Many dog's let their food in the bowl and do not eat it all.  Dog's dishes also come with a water bowl attached.  That can easily spill and end up under the dish undetected.  Move the dish when you clean.  Clean the dish itself at least once a week.
3.  Rotting leaves right next to your house:  if you leave them they rot and create leaf mold.  Open the windows to get that much needed clean air and you have mold blowing into the house.  Rake the leaves away from the house. Spring Cleaning To Kill Mold
4.  In the Refrigerator:  Food gets moldy also.  The mold on food also causes a reaction.  That mold is Penicillium.  As soon as you open the refrigerator, you let mold our into the rest of the house.  Clean your refrigerator at least once a week.  Pitch food that is old.  Check jars of food.  Start dating food if you are not sure how old the food is.
5. HVAC Ducts:  Condensation can form in the ducts.  These ducts must be cleaned to ensure that there is no condensation inside them.  If there is, when you turn on the heat, you are effectively blowing mold through your house.
Consider that 3 out of every 4 houses have an asthmatic patient.  Some homes have more than one.  It is amazing that traditional medicine is stuck on prescribing medicine and does not access environmental factors such as mold and indoor air pollution.  It is the goal of this blog for you to consider what environmental factors could affect the health of your family.  Do not blow off getting rid of mold.  Do not assume that your child's asthma and allergies are just caused by pollen. Mold aggravates allergies and can cause mold.
The steps necessary to stop mold and kill mold are:
1.  Dehumidify your basement with a basement dehumidifier.
2.  Use allergy air purifiers throughout the house.
3.  Clean all surfaces with Borax.  Pitch obviously moldy items.
